BUT.
The purpose of this blog is to reclaim and redeem these words to their proper use by applying them to the one thing, the one person, who unquestionably earns and owns them, by their original definitions, more than any other. Someone for whom redemption is actually kind of a specialty.
He's also the most important person in the history of the galaxy, the universe, and eternity. He's also the most important person to you, even if you don't realize it.
He's also the most important person to the people you love the most, the people you love the least, and every random stranger you've met or haven't met. Whether they realize it or not.
And He's also the eternal Son of God, the hope of the world.
My purpose for this blog is to not only explain why those overused words fit Him so perfectly, but explain why I believe in Him so much. I haven't done that sufficiently since I became a Christian at age 16, and I hope to rectify that.
Some other goals for the blog are:
- to challenge skeptics and non-believers to rethink their perceptions of Christ and Christianity
- to challenge Christians to think more deeply about Christ, the Bible, their faith, and the larger Christian world
- to encourage Christians to live lives of joy and grace in all circumstances
- to share my personal thoughts on a variety of scriptures and biblical topics
- to include lots of other neat stuff like book reviews, links to stuff by people smarter than me, and interviews with Christians I personally know who have diverse and interesting occupations and backgrounds, and can offer unique perspectives on things.
I'm hoping to blog approximately once a week, and I'm hoping to provide a place on the internet that's unique, enjoyable, thought-provoking, up-building, and ultimately Christ glorifying. It's also coming from my personal perspective, a janitor slash comic book artist, so it might be a little goofy sometimes. But it will always ultimately center on the one for whom and by whom this incredible universe was made.
Next blog will be Monday, and I'll be talking about why the epic of Jesus is more epic than any other.
In His Awesome Grace,
Aaron
